Your way to legal compliance – the Animal Welfare Label

The Animal Welfare Label is the only official label for products that meet the provisions of the Austrian Animal Welfare Act. It guarantees compliance with the legal animal welfare requirements based on a scientific examination and practical experience.

It is the only label of its kind, legitimized by the Austrian animal welfare act. It is only awarded after positive assessment of a product by the Austrian Animal Welfare Centre as an official independent body.

Legal compliance for your product

Each product examined and positively evaluated by the Austrian Animal Welfare Centre is individually labelled with a specific inspection number. The inspection number consists of three parts – the year of the assessment, a specific number for the animal category and a serial number.

Details on the design and usage of the animal welfare label are regulated in the “Richtlinie hinsichtlich Details zur Ausgestaltung des Tierschutz-Kennzeichens“.
