The Austrian Animal Welfare Centre is a federal institution under the authority of the Federal Minister of Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection. It serves as a central agency providing information and assessment in animal welfare (Art. 18a para. 1, Federal Law Gazette I No. 118/2004 as amended by Federal Law Gazette I No. 86/2018 of the Austrian Animal Welfare Act).
