The Austrian Animal Welfare Centre was established on the basis of Art. 18 para. 6 in conjunction with Art. 18a para. 1 of the Animal Welfare Act in order to increase legal certainty and improve enforcement with regard to animal welfare regulations.
The Austrian Animal Welfare Centre assesses
- housing systems and other technical equipment for keeping animals
- housing systems and stable facilities as well as pet accommodations and pet accessories
