Education & Experience:
Law diploma and doctoral programme at the Karl-Franzens-University Graz
She worked marginally in a notary’s office, completed her legal clerkship in Klagenfurt and did an internship at the European Parliament in Brussels.
Following her studies, she worked more than 10 years as a legal expert in the Federal Ministry of Health and Women, where she was primarily working in the fields of animal welfare and animal transport. As a lawyer, she was particularly involved in the preparation of regulations on animal welfare legislation (Animal Welfare Act, Animal Transport Act) and all other draft laws and amendments to regulations in this sector. She is therefore familiar with the legal provisions but also with the concerns of their implementation and enforcement. In October 2015, she took over as CEO of the Austrian Animal Welfare Centre.
