Education & Experience:

Diploma and doctoral programme in veterinary medicine at the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna, dissertation and research assistant at the Institute for Animal Husbandry and Animal Welfare at the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna, European Veterinary Specialist™ in Animal Welfare Science, Ethics and Law

During her more than 10 years of research work at the Institute for Animal Husbandry and Animal Welfare at Vetmeduni Vienna, she was primarily responsible for the areas of animal husbandry and animal welfare of pet and farm animals. She worked as a research assistant in practice-oriented research projects (e.g. Welfare-Quality® in cattle, keeping dairy goats in large groups, ProZoo – animal husbandry in pet shops). She was the animal welfare ombudswoman in Upper Austria for three years and is therefore familiar with the legal regulations as well as the challenges in their implementation and enforcement. Since January 2016 she works as a resarch assistant at the Austrian Animal Welfare Centre.
